MASS TO CELEBRATE the wide Diversity of our Faith here at St Alban’s on Sunday 24th October at the 11.15 Mass.

It is to help us all to share and think of and experience the variety of ‘flavours’ of our Catholic Faith. This comes from our heritage and cultures. People come to St Alban’s from a wide background of countries  --  so we are hoping to have Mass with hymn singing with different languages / the Sunday readings likewise:  An Offertory Procession with a religious symbol of counties / It will be lovely if people could wear traditional dress: we will have a ‘Jacob’s Join in the Parish Centre after Mass and a bit of a natter: I NEED HELP IN THIS  (I can only speak English  !! )

NEXT WEEKEND           ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL  From the COMBONI SISTERS  A Sister will be coming to give the Appeal this year: Sister is coming from London and staying at the Franciscan Convent. I am sure she will have a wonderful welcome and give us an insight into the work of the Missionary Nuns in far away places.

GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE          It now has a new Roof… I think the 3rd!  Too wet here !! Anyway, we had to remove the Name-plates for the restoration and I have taken them to be polished and cleaned. We will pop them back as soon as I get them back home. Apparently our Garden is called a Columbaruim.

PAPAL VISIT

Can those parishioners who have booked to see the Pope ensure they pick up a Papal Visit Book -  and I hope they have received details of travel ?  Any 'dibs & dues' outstanding.. thanks

BOOKS FOR THE PAPAL VISIT   available at back of Church.. no specific charge for them… but a Donation would be appreciated. Thank you.

'I BELIEVE, ACTION CAMBODIA TODAY. ADVANCED NOTICED.

Our parish charity has rented the charity shop at 37 Penny Street for the week beginning 14th November, and we need your help. We need to stock the shop with saleable items such as clothes in good condition and bric-a-brac. We would like you to search out any of these things and save them for us until we have our storage system worked out. We are also looking for a few people who would be interested in helping the Committee to run the shop maybe one day during the week. We will update you with our arrangements in the coming weeks. Many thanks.

New Manager.

Mr David Warburton is our the Centre Manager here at our Parish Social Centre. I am sure he will be a great asset to us all. I am sure he will get a great friendly St Alban's welcome.

David has great 'culinary skills' so a few tempting morsels might appear !! Pop in after Mass and have a drink and a natter.   Tel:  661193 to enquire/book

The Bishop has to confirm any Mass Time Changes… so nothing will happen for a while

We have a separate tradition for Mass Offerings which is good to stick to: If anyone wishes a Mass to be offered for a person, whether alive, recently dead, around an anniversary time or for whatever reason what you do is: Write the name or specific Intention on the outside of an envelope and place some money inside the envelope and then give it to one of the priests who will offer Mass for the Intention / person. How much to give Well, nowadays people normally give a minimum of £5 and often more
